Hello world. This is my first post on this new blog. My blogs became unimportant to me as the election became more relevant. I focused on Facebook and Twitter. Then the results of the election delayed my planned return to blogging.
This blog is a compromise. My life has changed as the danger to the future of America looks more stark and evident. I am 58 years old and do need to hang up my political activities and paint watercolors with my blogs but I am not sure how to transition to that.
My political awareness began many years ago with the coverage of Watergate. What we are going through now is worse than that. It has aspects of Watergate centering on fair elections but it is so much more dangerous. Like Watergate there are stories that aren't the main focus but are just as important. Watergate had the activities of the "plumbers" showing us the danger of slush funds and dirty tricks to the electoral process. Today we have voter suppression, gerrymandering, and other ancillary activities that are just as dangerous as the main scandal.
I will try to post some relevant material here as I attempt to begin painting watercolors.
